Guardia di Finanza marks 252nd anniversary with nationwide operational report

Across Italy, the Guardia di Finanza commemorated its 252nd anniversary in June 2026 with ceremonies in provinces such as Macerata, Rome, Frosinone, Siena, Enna, Asti, Modena, Como and many others. During the events the corps presented its operational balance for 1 January 2025‑31 May 2026. The data show a massive “all‑field” effort: tens of thousands of interventions (e.g., more than 20 000 in Rome, nearly 12 000 in Como, over 3 600 in Macerata), thousands of delegated investigations and a wide range of seizures. Financial results include confiscations of €52.5 million in Macerata, €71 million in Rome and over €45 million in Como, together with the identification of hundreds of tax evaders, thousands of undeclared workers and large drug and counterfeit-product seizures. The President of the Republic’s message highlighted the corps’ role in safeguarding the nation’s economic legality and protecting families and businesses. Local authorities, judges and representatives of professional associations attended the ceremonies, and a number of medals and commendations were awarded to distinguished finance officers.
