Guardia di Finanza marks 252nd anniversary in Venice

On 25 June 2026 the Italian finance police, Guardia di Finanza, celebrated its 252nd anniversary in Venice. Regional President of Veneto Alberto Stefani attended the ceremony, praising the force as a “pillar of our security” and highlighting years of collaboration between the regional administration and the guard.

Stefani announced that the regional council had approved a protocol of understanding with the Guardia di Finanza command. The agreement will fund joint training programmes on European cohesion policy, information‑technology skills and management, aiming to enhance the guard’s operational effectiveness at the regional level.
