Guayaquil hosts social inclusion and community service initiatives

In Guayaquil, local social initiatives are highlighting community service and inclusion through various beauty and leadership programs.

Sixteen candidates for the Reina de Guayaquil pageant recently visited the Albergue Ciudadano Municipal, a shelter for people experiencing homelessness and human mobility issues. The group provided lunch and non-perishable food donations to approximately 30 residents, including youth and seniors. The visit, organized by the Public Company of Social Action, Neighborhood Integration, and Education (DASE EP), focused on social solidarity and hearing the life stories of the shelter's occupants.

Separately, the second edition of ‘La Belleza de Sentir’ has officially launched, presenting nine candidates aiming to become ambassadors for inclusion. Organized with support from the Guayaquil Mayor's Office through the Social Inclusion Directorate, the program commemorates International White Cane Day. The initiative focuses on empowering women with partial or total visual disabilities by providing training in social project development, leadership, public speaking, and artificial intelligence applications.
