Guayaquil hosts symphonic performance and musical tribute
The Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra of Guayaquil performed Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, ‘Titan,’ as part of the ‘Ruta de las Iglesias’ program. Due to the technical complexity and large scale of the work, the orchestra expanded to 95 musicians, including 15 additional players. The free concert was held at the San Antonio de Padua church in Urdesa Norte.
Separately, the Municipality of Guayaquil held a tribute at the Olmedo Cultural Center to honor six prominent Ecuadorian singers: Héctor Jaramillo, Sebastián Jaramillo, Daniel Flores, Cecilio Alba, Juan Carlos Córdova, and Gustavo Pacheco. The event, organized through the ‘Cultura en Movimiento’ program, recognized their long-standing contributions to the nation’s cultural identity.
