Guayaquil job fair offers 3,000 vacancies through 80 companies

The Ministry of Labor and Human Development organized the ‘Encuentra Empleo’ job fair on Friday, August 21, at the Bolivariano Superior University Institute in Guayaquil. The event featured more than 80 companies offering approximately 3,000 job vacancies.

Minister of Labor and Human Development Cynthia Gellibert inaugurated the event, which aimed to connect Ecuadorian talent directly with the productive sector to facilitate access to formal and dignified employment. In addition to job openings, the fair provided free public services, certifications, training, and labor counseling.

Participants reported that the fair offered a valuable opportunity for direct contact with employers, allowing for immediate interviews and greater visibility for their resumes compared to traditional digital applications. While recent data from the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC) placed national unemployment at 3.1%, the high turnout at the event highlights a continued demand for employment opportunities.
