Chile, Mexico and Argentina announce multi‑billion public infrastructure investments
Local authorities in three Latin American regions revealed extensive public‑funded projects aimed at improving community services.
In Chile's Araucanía region, the municipality of Traiguén approved investments exceeding 2.46 billion CLP for school buses, rural water supply, security patrols, a sports centre and urban upgrades. The same region also installed its first UOCT‑integrated traffic signal in Victoria, a 96 million CLP upgrade intended to enhance safety for thousands of daily commuters.
In Mexico's state of Guerrero, Governor Evelyn Salgado reported that more than 1,500 school‑related works have been carried out with a historic 2.3 billion MXN investment, benefitting over 1.1 million students and including new classrooms, laboratories, sports facilities and digital equipment.
In Argentina's Neuquén province, Education Minister Soledad Martínez outlined ongoing school construction and expansion efforts to meet rapid demographic growth, citing new rural schools and upgrades in San Martín de los Andes and other municipalities.
