GUGA revises Generative AI Passport syllabus for 2027 exams

The Generative AI Association (GUGA) has announced a major revision to the syllabus for its ‘Generative AI Passport’ certification exam. The updated curriculum will be implemented starting with the examinations held in February 2027.

The revision addresses the rapid evolution of AI, specifically the rise of AI agents and the increasing need for AI Transformation (AX). Key updates include expanded coverage of AI agents, context engineering, and prompt injection. The syllabus also places a stronger emphasis on risk prevention, AI ethics, and organizational AI governance to combat issues such as shadow AI and information leakage.

Furthermore, the new syllabus will include practical applications across various industries and business functions, such as marketing, creative production, and data analysis, as well as methods for evaluating and verifying AI outputs.

In conjunction with these changes, GUGA has opened pre-orders for the new official textbook, which will be published by Shoeisha to ensure wider availability in bookstores and online. Additionally, the association has begun accepting applications for a certification renewal test designed to help existing holders update their AI literacy.
