Guillaume Trichard re-elected Grand Master of Grand Orient de France

Guillaume Trichard has been re-elected as the Grand Master of the Grand Orient de France (GODF). In a rare historical occurrence, Trichard becomes the first former Grand Master to return to the leadership role in thirty-seven years.

Elected on August 27, 2026, by 31 of the 37 voters of the Conseil de l’Ordre during the annual Convent in Bordeaux, Trichard will serve a three-year mandate. He previously held the position during the 2023-2024 Masonic year before stepping down due to term rotation rules. Between 2024 and 2026, he served as the president of SOGOFIM, the real estate company of the GODF.

Trichard, a lawyer by training with a background in industrial groups and trade unionism, brings a combination of political and real estate expertise to the role. This dual experience is viewed as a strategic asset for addressing the financial and structural challenges currently facing the organization.
