Guillaume Trisard re-elected Grand Master of Grand Orient de France

Guillaume Trisard has been re-elected as the Grand Master of the Grand Orient de France during the 161st Convent held in Bordeaux. Having previously served in the 2023-2024 term, his return to leadership is noted as a rare occurrence, with the last similar instance happening 37 years ago.

In his inaugural address, Trisard addressed the current state of France and the international landscape, noting a deep crisis in the democratic social contract. He stated, “What is being shaken is not a constitutional text, it is the bond that holds us together.”

Trisard outlined three primary objectives for his term: reaffirming the organization’s identity as a mystical and ritualistic order ahead of its 300th anniversary; launching the ‘Utopia Masonica’ public events in the spring of 2027; and organizing nationwide public debates titled ‘Workshops of Democracy’ to encourage active participation in public discourse.
