GUIMUN 2026 concludes second edition in Conakry
The second edition of the Guinea International Model United Nations (GUIMUN 2026) concluded in Conakry on Friday, November 6, following three days of diplomatic simulations, debates, and negotiations. The initiative aimed to strengthen youth capacity in diplomacy, international relations, and leadership.
The event involved 243 representations, consisting of 218 in the General Assembly and 25 in the Security Council. Participants engaged in debates and the drafting of resolutions regarding global issues. Notably, women accounted for 51.63% of the 153 speeches delivered in the General Assembly.
Coordinator Hadja Kadiatou Diallo reported that the program, which began in March, impacted approximately 500 young people through various training sessions and simulations. Organizing official Abdoulaye Kallo emphasized the importance of applying the values of dialogue, peace, and tolerance learned during the event to real-world contexts.
