Overview
The second edition of the Guinea Model United Nations (GuiMUN 2026) took place at Gamal Abdel Nasser University in Conakry. The three day event brought together 244 delegates from Guinean universities and other African nations, such as Mali and Gabon, to participate in diplomatic simulations.
The theme for this year focused on the regulation of new information and communication technologies (NTIC) and artificial intelligence (AI) as instruments for promoting global peace and security. For the first time, the program included simulations of both the United Nations General Assembly and the UN Security Council.
The event concluded on November 6, involving 243 representations. According to coordinator Hadja Kadiatou Diallo, the broader program initiated in March had reached approximately 500 young people through various training sessions. Organizer Abdoulaye Kallo noted the importance of applying the values of dialogue, peace, and tolerance to real world contexts.
