Guinea agricultural initiatives promote nutrition and female empowerment
In Guinea, various initiatives are targeting rural development through agricultural support and nutritional education. In the Kadabaya district of Dabola, the NGO AGUISSA, as part of the AgriFARM project, conducted awareness sessions to promote better dietary practices. The program focused on using locally available ingredients, such as corn powder and dried fish, to prepare enriched porridge, emphasizing food diversification to improve health for children and vulnerable populations.
Simultaneously, in Yembering, Chalco Guinea Company S.A. is supporting local agricultural groups to foster economic empowerment and female leadership. Through its Public and Community Relations Department, the company is working with women's cooperatives to help them overcome climate and land challenges. These efforts aim to strengthen food security and provide women with independent sources of income through organized agricultural production.
