Guinea launches nationwide CEE exam with inclusive measures

On 18 June 2026 Guinea began the Certificat d’études élémentaires (CEE), the national entrance exam for seventh‑grade, across all regions. The ceremony in Ratoma’s Konimoudou primary school was led by Education Minister Alpha Bacar Barry, who highlighted the goal of a calm, stress‑free environment and announced special provisions for visually impaired candidates, including braille‑transcribed papers and tactile tablets.

Local officials in Matoto, Kindia and other prefectures reported orderly launches, noting strict anti‑fraud rules such as an outright ban on mobile phones during the tests. Supervisors emphasized the importance of discipline among exam invigilators and the proximity of exam centres to students’ residences. The authorities said the preparations aim to ensure fairness, accessibility and credibility for the millions of Guinean pupils sitting the exam this year.
