African educational results and exam updates for 2026

Various West and Central African nations have released significant educational examination results and updates for the 2026 session.

In the Republic of the Congo, the BEPC results showed a 67.95% success rate, with 87,556 students passing. The Lékoumou department recorded the highest success rate at 86.57%.

In Guinea, the Baccalauréat remedial session achieved a 52.41% national success rate, outperforming the initial session's 38.08%. Female candidates performed better than males, with a 55.55% success rate. In the Kankan prefecture, 145 out of 826 registered candidates passed the remedial exam, while in Mamou, 116 out of 278 candidates were successful.

In Burkina Faso, the practical phase of the Professional Technician Certificate (BPT) examinations began on September 3, involving 880 candidates in the Oubri and Guiriko regions. Separately, President Ibrahim Traoré called for a major shift toward scientific disciplines in the national curriculum, noting the low number of graduates in science-based tracks compared to literary ones.
