Guinea-Bissau transitional government announces ministerial reshuffle
The transitional government of Guinea-Bissau has implemented a series of high-level appointments and dismissals. Transitional President General Horta Inta-a has exonerated Interior Minister General Mama Saliu Embaló and Fisheries Minister Virgínia Pires Correia.
António Suca Ntchama has been appointed to the Ministry of Interior and Public Order, while Fidelis Forbs, a former Minister of Public Works, takes over the Ministry of Fisheries and Maritime Economy. Ntchama previously held the Interior post in 2012 during a different transitional period.
Further administrative changes include the appointment of Edalberto Cuino as Director-General of Taxes, Lassana Nanco as head of the Business Formalization Center, and Juviano Landim as President of the Bissau Municipal Council. These appointments, pending official confirmation by Prime Minister Ilídio Vieira Té, follow a military coup led by General Horta Inta-a in November 2025.
