Guinea-Bissau transitional government restructuring
Overview
Following a military coup led by General Horta Inta-a in November 2025, the transitional government of Guinea-Bissau has engaged in a series of high-level administrative and judicial reshuffles.
In early October 2026, the transitional government implemented ministerial changes, including the removal of the Interior Minister and the Fisheries Minister. New appointments included António Suca Ntchama for the Ministry of Interior and Public Order and Fidelis Forbs for the Ministry of Fisheries and Maritime Economy.
By mid-October 2026, the restructuring expanded to the judiciary. General Horta Inta-a dismissed the Attorney General of the Republic and the President of the Court of Auditors, replacing them with Mário Ialá and Armando Sumba, respectively. These moves follow the suspension of the Constitution and the dissolution of the National People's Assembly, with observers noting that the changes appear to be a step toward consolidating transitional control over state institutions.
