Guinea’s Minister of Pre‑University Education and Literacy, Alpha Bacar Barry, visited the National Centre for Exam Paper Correction six days after the 2026 baccalaureate exams, reviewing the correction process and urging staff to maintain professionalism and transparency.

On 7 July 2026, Barry issued a ministerial order suspending four senior education officials—regional inspector Gbato Donzo (Nzérékoré) and prefectural directors Friki Keïta (Forécariah), Mamadou Touré (Siguiri) and Laye Keïta (Macenta)—for serious neglect in implementing directives for the national exams. Interim duties will be handled by local pedagogical section heads.

Separately, a court in Conakry convicted two exam candidates, Mamadou Alpha Diallo and Kendeyan Condé, of cheating during the same baccalaureate session. Both received one‑year suspended sentences and fines of 300 000 Guinean francs each.
