Guinea Model United Nations launches second diplomatic simulation

The second edition of the Guinea Model United Nations (GuiMUN 2026) has launched at Gamal Abdel Nasser University in Conakry. The three-day event brings together 244 delegates from various Guinean universities and other African nations, including Mali and Gabon, to engage in diplomatic simulations.

This year’s theme focuses on the regulation of new information and communication technologies (NTIC) and artificial intelligence (AI) as tools for promoting global peace and security. For the first time, participants will simulate not only the United Nations General Assembly but also the UN Security Council.

The initiative aims to familiarize youth with international relations and diplomatic mechanisms. Participants will engage in formal and informal debates to draft and vote on resolutions regarding the use of technology in conflict prevention. The event is supported by the Guinean Ministry of Youth and representatives from the United Nations system, including UNICEF.
