Guinea President Mamadi Doumbouya reshuffles cabinet, keeps PM Amadou Oury Bah

Transitional President Mamadi Doumbouya of Guinea carried out a partial cabinet reshuffle on Monday, retaining Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah. The changes affect key ministries: Bintou Keïta was appointed Minister of National Education, Literacy, Technical Education and Vocational Training; Djénabou Touré became Minister of Territory Administration and Decentralisation; Ibrahima Kalil Condé was named minister delegated to the president for Defence; Aboubacar Kourouma took the Industry and Commerce portfolio; and Félix Lamah succeeded to the Agriculture ministry, relinquishing Livestock.

Several incumbents remained in place, including Ibrahima Sory Tounkara as Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Morissanda Kouyaté as Foreign Affairs minister, and Mariama Ciré Sylla as Minister of Economy, Finance and Budget. The reshuffle comes amid Guinea’s extended political transition that began after the September 2021 coup, with the government installed in February 2024 facing social tensions and economic challenges.
