Guinea's MATD launches internal recruitment for governors and prefects

The Guinean Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization (MATD) has launched an internal call for applications to recruit regional governors and prefects. The initiative aims to strengthen territorial governance and professionalize public administration by prioritizing merit, experience, and managerial skills.

Eligible candidates must be active civil servants within the MATD or regularly assigned to it. Requirements include a minimum of a Bac+4 degree in law, social sciences, or public/territorial administration, along with at least five years of experience in territorial administration. Selected officials will be responsible for representing the state, coordinating decentralized services, implementing public policies, and managing crises.

Applications must be submitted electronically to recrutements@matd.gov.gn between September 16 and September 27, 2026. Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to be deployed anywhere within the national territory.
