Guinness theft: 70,000 pints stolen from Cheshire depot
Thieves have stolen approximately 70,000 pints of Guinness from a logistics depot in Runcorn, Cheshire. The heist involved two heavy goods vehicle (HGV) trailers loaded with more than 800 barrels of the stout.
According to Cheshire Police, the theft occurred in two stages on a Monday evening. The first trailer was taken around 7:45 PM, and a second trailer was stolen approximately 90 minutes later. The stolen goods, valued at roughly £115,000, were intended for local pubs. When including the value of the two white GXO-branded trailers, the total loss is estimated at approximately £205,000.
Detectives are searching for two male drivers. The first was described as a white man with a short, dark beard wearing a beanie, while the second was seen wearing a cap. Police are appealing to the public for information and asking motorists to review dashcam footage from the area near the Mersey Gateway bridge and towards Rainhill and Watkinson Way.
