Guinness theft: 800 barrels stolen from Cheshire depot
Police in Cheshire are investigating the theft of approximately 800 barrels of Guinness stout from an industrial estate in Runcorn. The incident occurred on the evening of Bank Holiday Monday, August 31, 2026.
According to the Cheshire Constabulary, two separate thefts took place at the Whitehouse Industrial Estate. In the first instance, a driver reversed a lorry up to a trailer and drove off with it. Approximately ninety minutes later, a second individual performed a similar maneuver with a second trailer.
The stolen goods, totaling roughly 70,000 pints, were destined for pubs across the country. The value of the Guinness is estimated at approximately £115,000 ($155,000), while the total value including the trailers is estimated at £205,000. Detectives are currently appealing for witnesses to assist in the recovery of the stolen items.
