Gujarat: 8 dead and 25 hospitalized after suspected spurious liquor incident

At least eight people have died and 25 others are receiving medical treatment following the consumption of suspected spurious liquor in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Local administrative records have verified a total of 61 affected individuals.

Of those affected, 10 people were discharged from the hospital on Thursday, and 18 others were evaluated by doctors but did not require admission. Among the 25 individuals currently undergoing treatment, five are reported to be in critical condition.

Bhavnagar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Akshar Vyas stated that medical teams have sent blood samples to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and other laboratories for analysis. Local authorities, including Executive Magistrate Kishan B. Chandaliya, have coordinated with hospitals to manage the casualties. Further administrative action will be determined once the laboratory reports are received.
