Gujarat expands Sardar Patel Good Governance CM Fellowship Programme
The Gujarat government has expanded the Sardar Patel Good Governance CM Fellowship Programme to enhance the implementation of state schemes. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the General Administration Department has increased the number of fellows from 41 to 47 and raised the total number of projects from 20 to 45.
The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) will serve as the programme's knowledge partner, with a senior faculty member appointed to assist the initiative. The fellowship provides young professionals with one to two years of practical experience in government functioning, focusing on research, policy analysis, and administrative coordination.
Key areas of focus include healthcare, agriculture, nutrition, education, urban administration, and the environment. Specific projects will address Anganwadi services, anaemia reduction, early childhood education, and the expansion of centralised kitchen facilities for the PM POSHAN Mid-Day Meal scheme and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS).
