Gujarat rolls out ₹815 crore infrastructure and heritage upgrades
The Gujarat state government has completed the first two phases of a ₹359 crore master plan to redevelop the UNESCO World Heritage site of Champaner‑Pavagadh. Works include expanding the Mahakali Temple complex, adding public‑address systems, CCTV, a 3.01‑km access road, multi‑level parking and landscaping around the heritage zone, with further phases slated to add additional roads, bridges and visitor facilities.
Separately, Union Home Minister Amit Shah virtually inaugurated and laid foundations for development projects worth over ₹815 crore in Gandhinagar and Sabarkantha districts. The projects cover a new Aluva‑Sadra bridge on the Sabarmati River, a community health centre with 24‑hour dialysis and NICU services, two new barrages for irrigation and drinking water, plus community buildings, water tanks and a civil hospital. Both initiatives are presented as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s "development and heritage" vision, under the leadership of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
