Gujarat to recruit former Agniveers into police without written exam

Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi has announced that former Agniveers will be eligible for direct recruitment into the Gujarat Police without a written examination. This decision follows the state government's previous exemption of these individuals from the Physical Efficiency Test.

Under the amended rules, former Agniveers who served in the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force and are residents of Gujarat will also benefit from a five-year relaxation in the upper age limit. Additionally, a 20 per cent reservation for former Agniveers remains in effect for designated uniformed posts within the department.
