Gulf airlines boost Syria connectivity with Jazeera Airways' Deir Ezzor launch and flydubai's Aleppo service

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s low‑cost carrier, announced the start of twice‑weekly flights to Deir Ezzor, Syria, on 8 August. The new route makes Jazeera the only airline offering direct services from Kuwait to three Syrian cities – Damascus, Aleppo and Deir Ezzor – bringing its weekly Kuwait‑Syria schedule to 26 flights. Since resuming flights to Damascus last year and adding Aleppo earlier this year, the airline reports more than 100,000 passengers on its Syrian network. Syrian Embassy Chargé d’Affaires H. E. Tamim Madani welcomed the expansion, saying it strengthens ties between the two countries.

Flydubai, based in the United Arab Emirates, will resume daily non‑stop service to Aleppo International Airport from 20 July, its second Syrian destination after Damascus. The airline cites strong demand from the Syrian diaspora and business travelers, and highlights the route’s role in linking Dubai’s aviation hub with previously underserved markets. The daily service will use a 170‑seat Boeing 737‑8, includes a codeshare with Emirates, and is part of flydubai’s broader network expansion that recently added destinations in Libya, Thailand and soon Nepal.
