Airline route expansions to Syria

In mid‑July 2026 Gulf carriers increased service to Syrian cities. Kuwait‑based Jazeera Airways announced twice‑weekly flights to Deir Ezzor starting 8 August, joining its existing routes to Damascus and Aleppo and bringing its weekly Kuwait‑Syria schedule to 26 flights. The airline reported over 100,000 passengers on its Syrian network and was welcomed by the Syrian embassy. Meanwhile, UAE‑based flydubai resumed daily nonstop flights to Aleppo from 20 July, citing strong diaspora and business demand and operating a 170‑seat Boeing 737‑8 with an Emirates codeshare.

A week later, on 29 July, German carrier Leav Aviation launched a non‑stop Düsseldorf‑Damascus service, the first direct Germany‑Syria connection in about 15 years. The twice‑weekly Airbus A320‑200 flight was enabled by a new air‑traffic agreement between the two countries signed in mid‑July, allowing legal operation after the 2011 conflict halted direct services.
