Gun attacks injure civilians in Zamora and Irapuato, Mexico

In Zamora, Michoacán, a 36‑year‑old merchant was shot during the Virgin of Carmen festivities. He suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and left leg and was taken by private vehicle to a hospital. Municipal police and civil guard responded, and a state investigation was opened; suspects fled on a motorcycle and no arrests have been made.

In Irapuato, Guanajuato, a soda‑truck driver was wounded when two men in black on a red motorcycle opened fire at the Miguel Hidalgo neighbourhood. Neighbours assisted the injured driver and transported him to a nearby hospital. Police and state security forces arrived, secured the truck, and the case was handed to criminal investigators. The assailants escaped without obtaining anything.

Both incidents underscore ongoing violence against civilians in Mexican towns, prompting local law‑enforcement investigations.
