Gunil denies mutual agreement on JYP contract termination

Gunil, a former member of the K-pop group Xdinary Heroes, has disputed JYP Entertainment’s claim that his departure from the band and the termination of his exclusive contract were based on mutual agreement.

Through legal counsel, Gunil stated that he did not voluntarily leave the group nor did he consent to the contract termination. While his attorney acknowledged that Gunil used “inappropriate expressions” during a private setting and offered apologies to fans and fellow members, the legal team maintains there are no valid grounds for the agency to end the contract.

The dispute follows allegations from an individual claiming to have dated the artist, who accused Gunil of making disparaging remarks about fans and expressing dissatisfaction with his agency. JYP Entertainment previously announced that after thorough discussions, it was difficult for Gunil to continue team activities, leading to the group reorganizing as a five-member band. Gunil expressed a desire to resolve the matter through good-faith discussions with the agency to avoid further distress to fans.
