Xdinary Heroes leader Gunil leaves group after fan insult allegations

JYP Entertainment has terminated the exclusive contract of Gunil, the leader and drummer of the K-pop rock band Xdinary Heroes, following allegations of misconduct. The decision follows the release of audio recordings and messages by a woman claiming to be his former partner, in which a voice alleged to be Gunil’s was heard disparaging fans and criticizing bandmates.

Gunil addressed the situation via the Bubble messaging app, admitting the recordings were real but providing context for his remarks. He stated that his comments were directed at “sasaengs” (stalker fans) and malicious commenters rather than the general fanbase. He cited mental exhaustion caused by severe privacy violations, including claims that stalkers had broken into the group’s dorm and placed a GPS tracker on his vehicle.

As a result of his departure, Xdinary Heroes will continue as a five-member group. The band has also canceled its scheduled performances at the Summer Sonic 2026 festival in Japan.
