Gunpo City SMEs secure $1.18 million in Southeast Asian export contracts

Gunpo City has reported significant progress in expanding overseas markets for its local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through its ‘2026 Southeast Asia Market Development Group’. In collaboration with the Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator, the city dispatched three local companies to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Jakarta, Indonesia, from September 28 to October 3.

The participating companies—Daejin Illecys (power distribution equipment), Enough (cosmetics), and Kells (diagnostic kits)—conducted 50 export consultations totaling $3.45 million. These discussions resulted in 44 potential contracts valued at approximately $1.18 million and the signing of six Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs).

Individual performance included $601,500 in contract pursuits for Daejin Illecys, $450,000 for Enough, and $132,000 for Kells. Gunpo City plans to provide follow-up marketing and consultation support to ensure these discussions translate into actual export results. The city also intends to expand the program next year by partnering with Uiwang and Gwacheon to increase the number of participating companies to nine and diversify target countries.
