Gunpo City small business and manufacturing support

Gunpo City has implemented various initiatives to bolster its local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and manufacturing sector.

Through the ‘2026 Southeast Asia Market Development Group’, the city facilitated export expansion for local companies in Vietnam and Indonesia. This program resulted in approximately $1.18 million in potential contracts and several Memorandums of Understanding for companies specializing in power distribution equipment, cosmetics, and diagnostic kits. The city intends to expand this program to more companies and target countries in the coming year.

Additionally, local manufacturing innovation has received national recognition. At the ‘2026 Korea Small Business Convention’, CEOs from Kumho Hi-Tech and S&C Engineering received Presidential and Ministerial commendations, respectively. These awards recognized their contributions to smart manufacturing innovation and component localization. The city continues to provide field-oriented support, including customized consulting and smart manufacturing assistance, to enhance local enterprise competitiveness.
