Gunsbach building fire leaves five injured and two missing
A major fire broke out in a residential building in Gunsbach, located in the Munster valley, early Monday morning. The blaze reportedly started on the first floor and spread throughout the old structure, destroying the wooden staircase, roof, and attic.
Fifteen people were involved in the incident. Five individuals were injured and transported to the hospital, including one person in critical condition who jumped from a window to escape the flames. Two people remain missing, prompting the deployment of canine units to assist in search efforts.
Firefighters from Munster, Colmar, and several other surrounding areas faced significant challenges, including partial collapses of walls and floors, a destroyed staircase, and limited water supply from the local network.
