Delhi-NCR and Gurugram issue traffic advisories for Kanwar Yatra
Authorities in the Delhi-NCR region and Gurugram have issued extensive traffic advisories due to the Kanwar Yatra, which is expected to reach its peak during the Sawan Shivratri period.
In Delhi and surrounding areas including Noida, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad, significant congestion is anticipated at key points such as the Kalindi Kunj, DND Flyway, and the Noida-Delhi border. Specific routes like Ashram Chowk, Mathura Road, and the Badarpur border are expected to face heavy pressure. Commuters are advised to use the Metro service or seek alternative routes to avoid delays.
In Gurugram, police have implemented diversions for August 10 and 11. Heavy vehicles traveling from Delhi toward Rajasthan, Rewari, and Faridabad are directed to use the Dwarka Expressway and the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway to bypass main city corridors. Light vehicles are also advised to avoid the Delhi-Jaipur Highway due to the high volume of pilgrims traveling toward various local temples.
