Four Deepak Nandal Gang Members Killed in Gurugram Police Encounter, 3 Officers Injured

A late‑night police operation in the upscale Sushant Lok locality of Gurugram resulted in the deaths of four alleged shooters from the Deepak Nandal gang and injuries to three police officers. The gang members opened fire when police attempted to persuade them to surrender after they had taken property dealer Vishal Beri, son of the founder of SGT University, hostage at his residence. Beri was rescued unharmed while one gang member sustained gunshot wounds. The encounter involved more than 60 rounds and highlighted the reach of Deepak Nandal, a former Haryanvi rapper turned gangster who runs an international extortion network believed to operate from the UAE, the UK and Canada. Police are pursuing a Red Corner notice to deport Nandal, who is linked to multiple extortion, kidnapping and murder cases across Delhi and Haryana.
