Gustavo Dudamel and Hilary Hahn headline marquee classical concerts in Salzburg and Ludwigsburg

Conductor Gustavo Dudamel led the Vienna Philharmonic in a performance of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection” at the Salzburg Festival’s Großes Festspielhaus on 27 July 2026. The rendition, featuring the Wiener Singverein and soloists Ying Fang and Nadezhda Karyazina, was met with standing ovations despite minor imperfections.

Violinist Hilary Hahn appeared at the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, performing Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen under the direction of Omer Meir Wellber. Critics highlighted her virtuosity and the orchestra’s responsive accompaniment, noting the concert’s dynamic contrast and emotional depth.
