GVM Care & Research provides medical assistance at Mediterranean Games
GVM Care & Research, the official healthcare partner for the Mediterranean Games, reported assisting 360 athletes and delegation members during the event. The medical operation provided continuous care to approximately 4,000 participants from 26 different countries, working in coordination with the Italian National Health Service and emergency services.
The medical network utilized 90 professionals, including doctors and nurses from five Apulian hospital facilities. Key components of the medical response included a Medical Center and a shock room aboard the ship Aroya, an Advanced Mobile Clinic, and eight ambulances equipped for advanced rescue. Specialized clinics were available for orthopedics, ophthalmology, gynecology, gastroenterology, dentistry, and maxillofacial surgery. During the ceremonies at Iacovone, 57 people received assistance, and four individuals were transported to the hospital for further treatment.
