Gwangju City launches mobile mayor's office bus

Gwangju City has launched a mobile field administration initiative called the ‘Mobile Mayor’s Office Direct Bus’ to enhance communication with residents. The city converted a 30-seater vehicle into a mobile communication space where Mayor Park Kwan-yeol and relevant officials can visit local sites, business locations, and areas with high civil complaints to listen to citizen opinions directly.

This approach shifts from the traditional method of citizens visiting City Hall to the administration proactively visiting the field. The bus serves as a space to share the progress of various projects and discuss solutions for local issues. Initial operations took place at the Paldang Fog Park construction site, the Gyeongan 2 District urban development site, and the Seongnam-Janghowon expressway ramp construction site.

The city plans to prioritize areas that are far from City Hall or have poor administrative accessibility, as well as large workplaces and sites with collective civil complaints. Issues raised during these visits will be managed through a step-by-step process, including department assignment, review, and follow-up on results to ensure transparency and continuous monitoring.
