GWM confirms launch details and high interest for new Haval H7

Great Wall Motor (GWM) has announced upcoming launches and significant consumer interest for the new Haval H7 SUV in both South Africa and Australia.

In South Africa, the 2026 Haval H7 will be offered with three powertrain options: internal combustion (ICE), hybrid (HEV), and plug-in hybrid (PHEV). The ICE variant is expected to feature a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 170 kW and 380 N.m of torque. The HEV model combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 182 kW and 540 N.m. The PHEV option utilizes GWM’s Hi4 intelligent all-wheel-drive system, delivering a combined 330 kW and 660 N.m.

In Australia, GWM reports unprecedented pre-launch interest, with 1,500 expressions of interest recorded following its debut at the Everything Electric exhibition. The Australian model will be offered exclusively with the Hi4 all-wheel-drive system and will feature hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains based on a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine. The plug-in hybrid version is quoted to produce 182 kW of power and 670 Nm of torque.
