GWM launches Haval H7 plug-in hybrid SUV in Brazil

GWM has officially launched the Haval H7 in the Brazilian market, priced at R$ 261,000. The new SUV is a plug-in hybrid flex model featuring the Hi4 (Hybrid Intelligent AWD) platform. It combines a 1.5 Turbo Flex engine with two electric motors, delivering a combined 370 cv and 77 kgfm of torque. The vehicle offers an all-electric autonomy of up to 92 km according to Inmetro standards and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.

Designed with an off-road focus, the H7 includes features such as a 220 mm ground clearance, seven driving modes, and a mechanical rear differential lock. Its pricing strategy appears aimed at remaining competitive within the Brazilian tax landscape, specifically regarding IPVA exemptions in São Paulo.

In a separate development within the electrified segment, Jeep is expanding its lineup in Brazil. The 2027 Jeep Compass will receive a 1.3 MHEV (mild hybrid) powertrain, which utilizes a 48V system to improve fuel efficiency by up to 11% without changing performance metrics. Additionally, the Jeep Compass 4xe has been introduced as a fully electric option in certain markets, utilizing dual motors to manage off-road terrain.
