GWM Philippines completes 1,000-km fuel economy test
GWM Philippines recently conducted the ‘Go 1,000 More’ fuel economy run, a real-world test involving diesel and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) models. The two-day challenge, supervised and verified by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), tested whether vehicles could reach the 1,000-kilometer mark on a single tank of fuel.
The test route spanned from Nuvali, Santa Rosa, Laguna, to Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, and back, utilizing expressways, provincial highways, and city roads under varying weather conditions. The GWM Cannon and Haval H9 both exceeded the 1,000-kilometer threshold, recording 1,270.0 kilometers and 1,213.8 kilometers respectively. The Haval H7 Hi4 PHEV, which began the run with a full battery charge, achieved the highest fuel efficiency at 15.73 km/L, covering 932.4 kilometers on a single tank.
Dax Avenido, Brand Head of GWM Philippines, stated that the initiative aimed to prove that capability and efficiency can coexist for Filipino motorists, demonstrating that their vehicles are built to travel further with less fuel.
