GWM reaches 4,000th crash test milestone with Haval H7

Great Wall Motor (GWM) has reached a milestone by conducting its 4,000th crash test at its Safety Laboratory in Baoding, China. The company selected the Haval H7, a global market SUV scheduled for launch in Brazil later this year, to mark the occasion.

The milestone follows over three decades of investment in research and safety validation. GWM’s Safety Laboratory covers 57,000 square meters and represents an investment of 510 million yuan (approximately 389 million reais). The facility is designed for comprehensive evaluations, including full vehicle collisions, structural safety, and the validation of active and passive safety technologies.

During the test, the Haval H7 demonstrated structural integrity, with the passenger compartment remaining largely undeformed. Safety systems, including airbags and seatbelts, functioned as designed. Additionally, the vehicle’s fuel system remained intact without leaks, and the high-voltage electrical system automatically disconnected upon impact.
