Gyeonggi Province seeks to host Global AI Hub

Gyeonggi Province is intensifying efforts to host the Global AI Hub, a multilateral artificial intelligence cooperation platform being developed by the South Korean government in collaboration with United Nations-affiliated international organizations and multilateral development banks.

To refine its strategy, the province held the Gyeonggi Global AI Hub Attraction Strategy Forum at the G-FAIR KOREA 2026 exhibition at KINTEX. The forum brought together approximately 200 participants, including government officials, academics, and industry experts, to discuss AI infrastructure competitiveness, the acceleration of AI transformation (AX) for small and medium-sized enterprises, and global expansion through international cooperation.

Economic Vice Governor Joo Hyung-chul emphasized that regardless of which specific area within the province is selected, the administration will establish a cooperative system to ensure all 31 cities and counties, as well as local businesses, can participate in and share the benefits of the hub.
