Gyeonggi Superintendent Ahn Min-seok holds meetings on education and teacher rights
Gyeonggi Provincial Superintendent Ahn Min-seok has held high-level discussions with both parents and educators to address regional educational issues and teacher welfare.
In a town hall meeting in Goyang City, Ahn met with approximately 350 parents and local officials to discuss core educational pledges. Parents raised concerns regarding safe commuting environments, the expansion of school buses, and the implementation of 'phone-free schools.' In response, Ahn emphasized his commitment to protecting teacher rights and expanding cultural, arts, and physical education opportunities.
Additionally, Ahn participated in an open debate with three major teacher organizations to mark his 100th day in office. During the session, teachers reported significant challenges, including malicious complaints, infringement of educational rights, and the burden of handling parent communications via personal messaging apps outside of working hours. Ahn pledged to restructure the administrative system to be teacher-centered, stating his goal is to reduce administrative workloads so that educators can focus solely on teaching.
