Gyeonggi Superintendent An Min-seok promotes education policies at OECD

An Min-seok, the Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, visited the OECD Directorate for Education and Skills in Paris to present key regional education policies and discuss global cooperation. During the visit, An introduced three core initiatives aimed at the ‘Alpha Generation’: ‘Phone-Free School’ to restore the essence of education, ‘RAS’ (Reading, Arts, and Sports) for holistic development, and ‘Wall-Breaking’ to dismantle administrative barriers between schools and local communities.

An emphasized that these policies are built upon the foundation of restoring teachers' rights, aiming to create an environment where students are excited to attend school, teachers are respected, and parents feel secure. The delegation also met with UNESCO to discuss future learning innovation and visited various educational institutions in France, Estonia, and Germany to study digital transformation, civic education, and arts-based learning. The findings from this European tour will be integrated into the Gyeonggi education long-term transformation plan.
