Police in Gyeongsan are deliberating whether to disclose the identity of a 31-year-old Chinese university lecturer, identified as Jeong, who is accused of murdering and dismembering a 25-year-old Chinese female student.

Jeong allegedly killed the student, who was his former pupil, in his studio apartment in Hayang-eup on October 20. Following the crime, he is accused of dismembering the body and disposing of parts across various locations, including Gyeongju and Gyeonggi Province. Authorities have recently recovered additional remains during searches based on the suspect's statements.

Investigators report that Jeong attempted to obstruct the investigation by making false reports and dressing in women's clothing. Notably, he reportedly continued routine activities, such as posting upcoming class schedules in a university group chat, the day before his arrest on October 25. The police plan to transfer the case to the prosecution this week and are considering a psychopathic evaluation of the suspect.
