While Zheng claimed the killing was an impulsive act occurring during an argument between lovers, police are investigating whether the crime was premeditated. Notably, the suspect has reportedly refused to undergo a psychopathic personality diagnosis test. As the investigation continues, authorities are searching for any remaining remains and are considering the public disclosure of the suspect’s identity due to the nature of the crime. Police also continue to investigate allegations that Zheng had previously used his academic position to harass other Chinese female students at the university.
