Gyeongsangbuk-do establishes AI robot enterprise council in northern region

Gyeongsangbuk-do has completed a regional cooperation network for the robot industry by launching the Northern Gyeongsangbuk-do AI Robot Enterprise Council. This new council joins existing networks in the western (Gumi), southern (Gyeongsan), and eastern (Pohang) regions, creating a comprehensive coverage of the province.

The northern council includes 12 companies located in Gimcheon, Andong, Yeongju, and Sangju. The initiative aims to help local small and medium-sized enterprises participate in the expanding robot industry supply chain, particularly as large corporations increase their investments in the sector.

Key strategic focuses for the northern region include leveraging the precision machining capabilities of the Yeongju Advanced Bearing National Industrial Complex to produce core components like reducers and actuators. Additionally, the province plans to enhance support for agricultural robots by moving beyond technology development to include field testing and widespread distribution in farming communities.
