Ha Tinh activates local response to heavy rainfall and flooding

Ha Tinh province has activated local response measures to manage the impact of heavy rainfall caused by a tropical convergence zone between August 18 and August 21. The widespread rain led to localized flooding in residential areas and several roads, affecting over 3,300 hectares of summer-autumn rice crops nearing harvest.

In response, local authorities and irrigation units have deployed personnel to critical areas to manage drainage systems, clear water flows, and restrict movement on flooded routes. Some reservoirs have proactively discharged water to regulate levels in anticipation of potential floods. Officials noted that while the rainfall was not the most severe on record, proactive management and flexible leadership were essential in minimizing economic damage and protecting agricultural yields.
